Olives and that

It took all of last week to collect the olives by hand and prune the trees with handsaws. A fund will be set up for a chainsaw before next winter.

.......... Followed by a visit to the physiotherapist for me to sort out my back and shoulders.

Today we took our 8 sacks of (very) poor quality olives to the factory. We will pick the oil up on Wednesday.

Banna still has a problem with the sores on his underside. Can't seem to get on top of it, so we might need to resort to antibiotic injection.

Good news ! Our house rent has come down quite a bit so we don't need to move after all. This also means that we don't need to re-home Jaco.

Missing in action so far, after 3 months. Just one chicken.

Not bad at all, for amateurs.

Windy

So we arrived at the field today to find that the wind had blown the door off the stable

Reminds me of ........

The old hay, which is still in the garage (or shed as it should be called) has proved popular with the pigs. Here's some video.........

Think we've decided to move to a smaller living space now that we also have the farm. At this rate, we'll be lucky if we have chance to sit down during the summer so anywhere with room for a sofa and a bed will do.

Well thats got Christmas over with, so lets get on with it. The temperature dropped in the last few days which meant that we were greeted by this frosty scene when we arrived at the farm. Now I understand why the local farmers told us not to plant anything just yet.

Good news: We discovered that the local vet can do horse dentistry. Hopefully he can innoculate the sheep and give them the worming tablets at the same time.

The White Mountains, living up to their name, from the field

The lambs are getting big now. Another few weeks and they will be fully weaned

Had to go into Kalyves for some bread after the feeding. Not bad weather for the 10th of January.

Banna has warm rugs and his stable for when it is cold

We have established that the chicken house is not going to be adequate and are going to have to build something more substantial. As usual, there are dominant chickens and one of the batch has had to be removed to "intensive care" to recover from bullying and lack of food.

I knew that outside toilet would come in handy for something !
